Accompaniment Team

Our accompaniment team is committed to showing up peacefully to Indigenous-led events and non-violent actions as requested. We work closely to support one another and our Indigenous partners.

Team members receive multi-day anti-colonial training in surfacing core assumptions about justice, engaging in power analysis, enduring discomfort, taking steps toward repair, and non-violent communication.

If you would like to apply to participate in our training with the possibility of joining our team, please send us a message and we will get back to you with information about the application and training process.

______________

Accompaniment has roots in liberation theology and draws on the Latin phrase ad cum panis, meaning "to break bread with." Accompanists are individuals or groups who walk alongside and support directly impacted people and communities, including our more-than-human relatives. The role is rooted in solidarity and emphasizes horizontal, non-hierarchical relationships built on trust, empathy, and mutual learning.
